Last weekend, Kyle and I decided to be spontaneous. I had recently mentioned to Kyle that I had seen photos of Wave Rock on my Instagram feed and it looked soooo cool! So, we booked a rental car, borrowed a tent & drove into the Outback for a little adventure. We had an awesome time playing like kids on Wave Rock & witnessing the most beautiful night sky! Here are a few photos from the trip…

He’s so proud that he put the tent together. In the dark. In less than 15 minutes.![]()

I forgot my tripod in the U.S., so we had to make do with a little jimmy-rigging… After this weekend, I’m determined to learn more about night photography. I mean, look at these stars. So gorgeous!

Tidal Waaaaave (Rock)! Cheesy, I know.

The perfect shooting angle, according to Mr. Goodwin…

The only surfing I’ve done in Australia…![]()

Racing against the self-timer. I won. Every. Single. Time.

More self-timer goofiness… check out those ballin’ green socks!

My husband seriously cracks me up! I mean, who rocks up in a wetsuit & flippers just for a photo?! PS, This was allllll his idea! No coercing involved.![]()

If you’re in WA and looking for a fun weekend away from the city, I highly recommend checking Wave Rock out (Especially now while the weather is cool & the flies are minimal). We weren’t really sure what to expect or whether the drive would be worth it– but it totally was! Between the stargazing, BBQ-ing, playing at Wave Rock & hiking, our impromptu trip was one I will never forget.
